How do I start dragon boating at Henley?
Just contact us at email@example.com or fill in the form below. We can then make arrangements for you to come down for your free introductory sessions.
During the three sessions you will be introduced to the club, its members, try it out and decide if dragon boating is a sport for you.
When are the trainings?
We train every Thursday at 7 pm and Sunday at 10 am all year round unless we are away racing. If you are planning to join us, please do contact us in advance to check we are not racing somewhere!
What equipment do I need?
Initially, you’ll need no equipment, as it will all be supplied by the club.
After your introductory sessions, if you choose to continue paddling then you will need to think about purchasing your own paddle and buoyancy aid.
What clothing is required?
General sportswear is fine, running or gym clothes are perfect. Dependent on the time of year and the weather you may want to think about some additional waterproof clothing, which helps keep you warm and dry.
Do I need to be able to paddle?
No, having no paddling experience is not a problem.
We have a scheme whereby all members are given the opportunity to learn to paddle and allows you to progress and develop at your own pace.
What do I get for my annual membership?
You’ll have access to all the paddlesports that are available at the Eyot Centre, be that dragon boating, canoeing or kayaking, plus highly experienced and qualified coaching staff.
In addition, the club offers access to a fully equipped gym, circuit training and other facilities.
